2022 Recap

December 31, 2022

As I sit here and start writing about my 2022 recap, I have so much to look back on. What a year 2022 was! Between traveling, getting married, and buying a house, we couldn’t have fit any more in this year if we tried. I’m pretty sure with all of the big life altering events that occurred this year, that we won’t be able to top the year that 2022 was.

Winter 2022

Our year started off pretty low-key. We explored another part of South Carolina when we went to Edisto Island. Kevin and I spent our winter mostly wedding planning and getting everything in order for the months to follow. We did fly down to Florida for a weekend to pick up my wedding dress at The Perfect Dress in Sarasota, FL. It was so much fun to be able to have my mother-in-law see my dress for the first time! Other than that quick trip, we didn’t really do much.

Spring 2022

Our spring started to pick up with us traveling to Arkansas to attend Kevin’s sister’s baby shower. After that quick weekend, the following weekends we traveled to New York for my first bridal shower, then Maine for my other bridal shower. Those weekends were so special to be able to spend time with family, friends and relish in the bridal glow. Kevin also went to Florida for his bachelor party and I had my bridesmaids fly to Charleston for my bachelorette party. What an awesome weekend my bachelorette party was! Our Spring was so busy but leading up to our wedding, we were able to spend so much time with loved ones and it made it all worth it.

Summer 2022

We finally got married in July!!! What an incredible weekend. Yes, I fully planned our wedding to be over an entire weekend because after a year and a half planning, I didn’t want it to all be over in one day. What a weekend it was. It was packed with amazing food, all of our closest friends and family, and even more amazing memories. It will be a weekend we will cherish forever.

After the wedding, we went back to adventuring. We went to Kiawah Island to go biking on the beach. Kevin and I flew to Florida to spend some time with family and get some much needed beach time! It was a spectacular way to end our summer of 2022.

Fall 2022

As if we couldn’t pack any more into 2022, we decided it was time to start looking for a house. We started our search in August, and after a long search, in mid-November we found our house! It was a wild ride and I’ll have to write a post about it soon and go into more detail of the process.

We also traveled a lot this fall. We started by going to a wedding in New Jersey. Kevin and I decided to do a quick weekend trip into New York City. That was so much fun and filled with delicious food. I still dream about our dinner at UVA. You can read more about our trip here.

For Halloween weekend, we went to New Orleans with Kevin’s brother and it was a surprise birthday weekend for him. It was so much fun to see his brother surprised when his college friends showed up for the weekend as well. The group did a haunted ghost tour and it was so spooky. We had such a great time and discovered what a great city New Orleans is to spend Halloween in.

Then, in early December, we traveled to see our friends in Washington D.C. It was a quick trip, but we really enjoyed getting to spend time with friends and see a few sights! We even got to see Christmas tree’s that represented each state/territory.

For this Christmas, we were able to spend time with my sister and my mom who traveled down from Maine. We even got to host them in our new house. It was such a special Christmas getting to spend our first Christmas married, with my family, in our new house.

2022 Wrapped

Well that’s my 2022! What a crazy, wild, jam-packed year. I wouldn’t change a thing. Although I really don’t know if 2022 can be topped, I am very excited to see what 2023 has in store for us. We already are planning more trips, adventures, house changes, and more. Cheers to an amazing 2022, and to what 2023 has to offer! 🥂

Jenna
